What changed on 3 October 2026
- No more stickers. Embassies and consulates now issue visas electronically, usually by email as a document with a QR code.
- Old stickers still count. A sticker issued before 3 October stays valid until its expiry date.
- How you apply varies by embassy. Some still accept applications in person (the visa you receive is electronic); others send you to the online portal.
- Visa on arrival is unchanged.
Option 1: the online e-visa
- Go to the official portal — type evisa.gov.kh into your browser yourself.
- Fill in your details exactly as in your passport, and upload the requested photos.
- Pay online — about US$30 plus a processing fee for the tourist e-visa.
- Wait for approval by email — usually a few business days, so apply at least a week before you travel.
- Print it and keep a copy on your phone.
Option 2: visa on arrival
Still available at Cambodia's international airports for eligible nationalities — handy for last-minute plans. Both the e-visa and the visa on arrival give a 30-day stay.
Don't forget the e-Arrival form

- When: within the 7 days before you arrive.
- Where: arrival.gov.kh or the official "Cambodia e-Arrival" app.
- What you get: a QR code — screenshot or download it before closing the page.
- It's not a visa. You need it as well as your visa, including if you're visa-exempt.
- Arriving by land or sea? The form launched for the airports; reports differ on whether it's now required at land crossings, so file it anyway to be safe.
Coming from Thailand?
The Thailand–Cambodia land borders have been closed to travellers since June 2025, with no reopening date announced. You'll need to fly.
Staying longer than 30 days
- Tourist (T-class): extendable once, by 30 days. After that you have to leave.
- Ordinary (E-class): 30 days on entry, then extendable for months at a time — the usual long-stay route. How E-class extensions work →
Frequently asked questions
Can I still get a visa sticker from a Cambodian embassy?
No. Since 3 October 2026, Cambodian embassies and consulates issue visas electronically only, as a document with a QR code. Sticker visas issued before that date remain valid until they expire.
How much is the Cambodia e-visa?
The tourist e-visa is about US$30 plus a processing fee, paid online on the official portal. It is single entry and allows a 30-day stay.
Is Cambodia visa on arrival still available?
Yes. The end of embassy sticker visas did not affect visa on arrival, which is still available at Cambodia's international airports for eligible nationalities.
Is the Cambodia e-Arrival card free?
Yes. The e-Arrival form is free on the official site, arrival.gov.kh, and the official "Cambodia e-Arrival" app. Sites that charge a fee are not official.
Do I need the e-Arrival form if I already have a visa?
Yes. The e-Arrival form is separate from your visa — it is an arrival registration, not a visa.
